Identifying a Precinct
The new Skygate would be a mixed use precinct, servicing surrounding suburbs as well as the international and domestic airports. The identifier developed would need to be able to encompass and promote retail, service industries, hospitality and entertainment and leisure offerings.
The precinct’s proximity to a major transit corridor was also a consideration. This made visibility on road signs was paramount, especially as the primary patrons would be commuters on their way to and from work.
Building Awareness
Extensive testing led to the creation of a bespoke logotype. With legibility at highspeeds as the primary goal, opportunities to suggest in-transit visits while building memorable features were developed. The flexible, robust logotype has been deployed across street signage, banners, wayfinding, websites and general outdoor campaigns.
